Hallelujah! The Emmy folks finally nominated these two terrific actors for Best Actor and Best Actress. Why did it take them 4 years???

EMMY MEMBERS, ARE YOU LISTENING?

PLEASE WATCH NBC’S FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS SO YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF AND THEN VOTE FOR KYLE CHANDLER AND CONNIE BRITTON SO THEY CAN FINALLY WIN THEIR EMMYS!!!

OK, that felt good.

For 4 incredible seasons, Chandler and Britton have been doing amazing work as Coach Eric Taylor and his wife Tami on one of the best TV shows ever. ...

Twilight frenzy is cranking up to full steam now, and even with the media blast of opening week, are you afraid that you’re not going to get enough Robert Pattinson?

No worries.

He’s got a full-length romance out on DVD to quench your appetite. It’s called Remember Me.

Pattinson stars as Tyler, a New York University college student who’s at war with his steely cold Wall Street dad (played by Pierce Brosnan). Then Tyler meets Ally, a girl who understands his pain (played by Emilie de Ravin of TV’s...

I used to not like Kathy Griffin at all. It seems weird to say it now, but she definitely was an acquired taste -- kind of like whisky and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

But the thing about Kathy is that she just kept blasting and blasting away and, one day I fell under her spell.

I’m a HUGE fan now.

One of my favorite TV must-sees every year is her crazy  New Years Eve gigs with CNN's Anderson Cooper. It’s edge-of-your seat viewing. She tries her very best all night to get Anderson and everybody – including herself...

I can’t say enough about this film airing tonight on HBO.

First-time filmmaker Joel Fox won a special Sundance jury prize for his beautifully done first-person documentary that blows the lid off the natural gas industry.

If you aren't a fan of dry political message films, don't worry. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. It's fast, funny, with good music, animation, and terrific reporting. And the information Fox uncovers is alarming.

After being offered money for drilling rights to family land...

I honestly don’t have a lot to recommend dads this weekend. (If you missed it, dads, you might want to check out last Monday’s write-up for some real good manly stuff.)

Saturday, there’s the World television premier of Michael Jackson’s This Is It on Starz.  I plan to watch it. I didn’t see it in the theaters, because it was all too sad at the time. It seems that people either really, really loved or really, really hated this film about the last tour that was quickly put together by Michael’s choreographer Kenny Ortega. I can’t wait to see for myself. ...

My parents didn't make me go to church much when I was a kid back in Georgia, but they sure played a lot of gospel music in our home. My mom loved it especially. She grew up playing organ in a Pentecostal church. Both her parents were ministers, and they would get "the calling" and would often move many miles to save souls. The sweet sound of gospel stayed with me throughout my life. I'm particularly drawn to pop music with heavy gospel influence.

But here's the real deal:

How Sweet It Was: The Sights...

That amazing Betty White is at it again. This woman doesn’t stop. At 88, where does she get all that energy? Super Bowl commercials, Saturday Night Live, Facebook fan frenzy…

Now TV Land has come up with its first original sitcom called Hot in Cleveland. The show is co-produced by Sean Hayes (Jack from Will & Grace), and it’s pretty funny. It stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick as Los Angeles BFFs who, on a flight layover from Paris, go into a bar, get a little crazy, and give...
