Every new mom deserves the kind of summer that Bethenny Frankel is having. Our favorite reality-show Skinny Girl, her hubby, Jason Hoppy, and their baby, Bryn, spent the season in Montauk, soaking up the sun and sand of Long Island's tiny South Shore, which explains Bethenny's picture-perfect tan.

Little Bryn and the Hoppys' 5-month-old marriage are thriving. And Bravo is leaning towards renewing the hit reality show, Bethenny Getting Married? -- although word's out that the cable network is trying...

With the ides of August quickly slipping by and school buses preparing to restart their engines for the new semester, I spoke with Oscar and Tony winner Marcia Gay Harden (Pollock, God of Carnage, Angels in America, Mystic River, Into the Wild, USA's Royal Pains, and more) about balancing fame and family, the pressures faced by kids today, the shortcomings of public education -- and a cool chance for parents to win their kids scholarship money and tickets to the American Music Awards simply by sharing...

Here’s a shout out for all you lactating, leaking, engorged, sore-as-sin yet rich-with-breast-milk Mamas out there! And here’s a second shout out for all you Mamas who formerly fit that bill during the long days and sleepless nights when you too were (ouch!) breastfeeding.

(Note: Not all women find breastfeeding painful. Some come to it quite naturally. For the rest of us breeders, building up our nipples to the task is misery. Nevertheless, breastfeeding is well worth the effort -- and the pain. Don't...

Recent shark sighting on New Jersey beaches and elsewhere have kept me and mine far away from the beach. When I think of all it took to bring my son this far along (he's poised to begin his pre-SAT courses!), there is no way that I am going to put him or, for that matter, my husband in harm's way of an insatiable sea beast. (Mind you, I haven't told my two "boys" that the reason I'm not pushing to spend a weekend at the shore is because of shark phobia. Instead, I  tell them that I don't want my skin...

It happened again -- this time, late last night. All I did was ask our 16-year-old son (while he was texting a friend) if I could get him a glass of iced tea. In reply, I got the rolled eyes, an audible sigh, and the "Mom, I'm busy!" sneer.

The difference between mothering young children and mothering older children is that, when your kids are little, whatever you say or do is gospel, and when they are big, whatever you say or do -- no matter the situation or your motives...

Swimsuit alert! It's been a very long time since I was a young parent in summer, looking forward to taking my baby to the beach. Yet I still shudder at the memories. (Optimistic parents arrive at the beach, unpack, and within minutes of setting up the blanket, are faced with a wet or dirty (sometimes both!) sand-covered diaper and a ton of remorse. "What were we thinking?!?" Mind you, I had a baby boy, which made diaper changes a bit easier.

Now, for all you moms of darling little daughters, I have found the solution to stripping down your...

Up for a kitchen throwdown? This one's a breeze. (I don't know about you but a breeze is precisely what I need, because for the past two weeks, the temperature in my kitchen hasn’t dipped below 80 degrees -- even when the oven and stove aren't on.)

It’s important to me that I prepare my family fresh, nutritious foods. But why sweat like Joan of Arc when you don’t have to? Plus, there's more to "cold cuisine" than tuna and pasta salads. I took a cue from the hotter-than-ever culinary trend (that's “hot”...
